Russian invaders have started to actively use long-range and strategic bombers to detect the air defense systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Defense Ministry Spokesperson Oleksandr Motuzianyk during a briefing at Ukraine Media Center, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The aggressor is extensively inflicting fire damage all over the contact line and deep into the defense lines of Ukrainian forces in Luhansk Region and Donetsk Region. The enemy intensified the use of aviation elements, mainly attack and combat aviation, to provide support for their land group. They continue to use long-range and strategic bombers to detect the air defense systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and determine the new frontiers for missile attacks on the territory of Ukraine,” Motuzianyk told.

In his words, according to the Ukrainian intelligence data, Russia’s Tu-22M3 and Tu-95/160 long-range bomber crews practiced simulated cruise missile strikes from the Sea of Azov and the Caspian Sea.

A reminder that, between February 24, 2022 and May 25, 2022, Russia’s total combat losses in Ukraine reached about 29,450 troops.
