Russia deploys Iskander launchers 50km of Ukraine's border

The aggressor redeployed the division of Iskander-M short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) systems to Brest region in Belarus at a distance of up to 50km of the state border of Ukraine.

This is stated in the latest report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06:00 on May 24, 2022, published on Facebook.

It is noted that the threat of missile and air strikes on Ukrainian objects launched from the territory of the Republic of Belarus is growing.

The enemy does not stop conducting offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone.

The enemy intensively fires along the entire line of contact and into the depths of the defense of Ukrainian troops in Donetsk, Slobozhansky, and Southern Buh operational areas. The greatest intensity of hostilities is observed in Donetsk operational area, namely near Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk.

In Volyn and Polissya directions, certain units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus continue to guard the section of the Belarusian-Ukrainian border in Brest and Gomel regions.

In Siversky direction, the enemy continues to take measures to strengthen the protection of the Ukrainian-Russian border in Bryansk and Kursk regions and to prevent the redeployment of Ukrainian troops to other directions.

The enemy launched an airstrike on the Ukrainian positions in the area of ​​ Bilopillia, Sumy region.

In Kharkiv direction, the enemy group focuses its efforts on holding positions. In particular, the enemy carries out assault operations to gain a foothold on the western and northern outskirts of the village of Ternova.

In Slovyansk direction, the enemy units get ready to resume the offensive. The aggressor, to support the offensive, deployed additional units of artillery in the southern part of the town of Izium.

In Donetsk direction, the enemy focuses on conducting an offensive operation to encircle Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk with subsequent access to the administrative border of Luhansk region.

In Lyman direction, the enemy may cross the Siversky Donets River on Dronivka-Bilohorivka section. The invaders deployed units of rocket and tube artillery for fire cover.

In Sievierodonetsk direction, the enemy, with the support of artillery, assaults the directions of Toshkivka and Ustynivka.

In Bakhmut direction, the enemy improved its tactical position in the area of Vasylivka.

In Avdiivka, Kurakhove, and Novopavlivsk directions, the enemy fired on Ukrainian units with the use of artillery and aircraft.

In Zaporizhzhia direction, the occupiers regroup and strengthen groups of troops to resume offensive operations towards Vasylivka – Kamyanske.

In the Southern Buh direction, the enemy continues to focus its efforts on holding the occupied frontiers.

In Kryvyi Rih and Mykolayiv directions, the enemy continues artillery shelling of Ukrainian positions.

The situation in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov operational zones has not changed significantly.

The enemy continues to pursue terror tactics against the Ukrainian civilian population in the occupied territories. The socio-economic situation in southern and eastern Ukraine deteriorates.

Over the past 24 hours, 16 enemy attacks were repulsed in the Donetsk and Luhansk directions. Eight enemy tanks, 22 armored personnel vehicles, one vehicle were destroyed.

The aviation units of the Air Force and the air defense units of the Land Forces downed six enemy UAVs, a cruise missile, and destroyed 30 armored personnel vehicles.
