Russian troops conduct offensive operations near Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk

Russian troops are conducting offensive operations near such settlements as Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk Region.

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“In the Sievierodonetsk direction, the enemy carried out assault operations towards Sievierodonetsk but failed, suffered losses and was forced to retreat. Hostilities are underway near ​​Toshkivka,” the report states.

In the Donetsk direction, Russian invaders intensified offensive and assault operations to improve the tactical position. They inflicted fire damage with mortars, cannon artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, operational and tactical aircrafts in order to destroy the fortifications of Ukrainian forces all over the contact line.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops occasionally opened fire on civil infrastructure facilities near such settlements as Dibrova and Zakitne.

In the Bakhmut direction, with the support of artillery and mortar systems, Russian occupiers carried out offensive operations near Vyskryva and attempted to improve their tactical position near Volodymyrivka and Vasylivka. The enemy suffered losses near Oleksandropillia.

In the Avdiivka direction, with the support of artillery systems, Russian troops conducted assault and offensive operations near Vesele but suffered losses and retreated.

In the Kurakhove direction, Russian invaders massively launched artillery strikes on civil infrastructure facilities, namely with multiple launch rocket systems. The enemy conducted the offensive on Novomykhailivka and Oleksandrivka but failed.

In the Sloviansk direction, Russian troops opened fire on civil infrastructure facilities near such settlements as Dovhenke, Velyka Komyshuvakha and Dolyna.

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian invaders focused efforts to maintain the captured frontiers. The enemy attempted to counterattack in order to restore the lost positions. Russian occupiers are conducting enhanced air reconnaissance with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Battles were raging near such settlements as Ternov and Vesele. In addition, Russian troops opened fire near Ruski Tyshky.

In the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia directions, Russian invaders hit infrastructure facilities and civilian households with mortar, rocket and cannon artillery systems, and conducted counterbattery activities. Near Novodarivka, the enemy suffered losses and retreated to the previously captured positions.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no significant changes in the condition and deployment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus were recorded. The threat of missile and air strikes from the territory of Belarus is persisting.

In the Siverskyi direction, Russian troops were hardening positions near Azarovka, Bryansk Region. The enemy opened fire with artillery and mortar systems on Sumy Region’s Boyaro-Lezhachi, Brusky and Stari Vyrky, and Chernihiv Region’s Hremiach.

In the Southern Bug direction, Russian invaders did not carry out active actions. They opened fire on residential houses with mortar and artillery systems, continued to harden positions and build the second defense line.

The enemy is likely to continue hostilities in order to improve the tactical position and reach the administrative border of Kherson Region.

In the Bessarabia direction, the situation remained unchanged.

Russia’s naval groups in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov continue to block civilian shipping.

Over the past day, 14 enemy attacks have been repulsed by the Ukrainian military in the Donetsk and Luhansk directions. As a result, eight Russian tanks, 14 armored fighting vehicles and six motor vehicles were destroyed. The Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense units shot down an enemy Orlan-10 UAV.
