The next security assistance package for Ukraine, announced by U.S. President Biden on Thursday, will include weapons and equipment totaling about $100 million.

“The package includes: 18 155mm howitzers, 18 tactical vehicles to tow 155mm howitzers,” Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He clarified that this number of artillery weapons corresponds to the armament of the artillery battery.

In addition, according to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive three AN/TPQ-36 counter-artillery radars.

"This is a counter-artillery system, which we talked about earlier, and which has already been delivered to Ukraine," Kirby noted.

He stressed that the shipment of that and other equipment would take place "very, very soon." The Pentagon Press Secretary also said that the American side was in "constant contact" with Ukrainian colleagues to follow all the urgent needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The current package, announced by the U.S. President, is allocated within the framework of funding for a previous large-scale law that provided for responding to Russia's aggression with the allocation of $13.6 billion.

As reported, on May 19, U.S. President Joe Biden announced the allocation of the next tranche of security assistance to Ukraine. He also welcomed the bill passed by the US Congress to disburse an additional $40 billion to respond to Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
