Russian invaders intensify offensive and assault operations in Donetsk direction

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on Facebook.

As of 18:00 on May 19, the main efforts of Russian troops were concentrated in the Donetsk direction, where they used aircraft, artillery and mortars.

In the Volyn and Polissia areas, the situation has not changed significantly. The threat remains of missile and bomb strikes on civilian and military infrastructure from Belarusian territory.

In the Sivershchyna direction, Russian forces continue to equip additional firing positions and fortifications in the border areas of the Bryansk and Kursk regions. In order to clarify the position of Ukrainian units, artillery positions and deployment routes, the invaders conducted air reconnaissance using UAVs.

Russian forces fired artillery and mortars at the border settlements of the Sumy region: Esman, Sopych and Seredyna-Buda.

In the Slobozhanshchyna direction, the enemy concentrated its efforts on maintaining its occupied positions and preventing the Defense Forces of Ukraine from advancing into the temporarily occupied territory. In some areas the enemy unsuccessfully tried to conduct counterattacks in order to restore lost positions.

Fighting continues in the areas of Ternova and Borshchova. The enemy is conducting enhanced air reconnaissance.

In the Sloviansk direction, Russian troops fired on civilian infrastructure outside the settlements of Pryshyb, Hrushuvakha and Bohorodychne.

In the Donetsk direction, in order to improve the tactical situation in some areas, the enemy intensified offensive and assault operations.

In the area of Sievierodonetsk, the enemy carried out assault operations, suffered losses and retreated to previously occupied positions. Fighting continues in the area of Toshkivka.

Russian occupiers carried out offensive operations in the area of the settlement of Oleksandropil of the Yasynuvata district and tried to improve the tactical situation in the areas of the settlements of Pylypchatyne, Druzhba and Trypillia, but with no success.

In the Avdiivka direction, with the support of artillery, the enemy conducted assault operations in the area of Novobakhmutivka, had no success, suffered losses and retreated.

In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy, with the support of jet artillery and heavy flamethrower systems, launched an offensive in the areas of the settlements of Stepne, Slavne and Marinka, but with no success.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations, firing on civilian infrastructure in the areas of Ozerne and Lyman.

The enemy did not conduct active hostilities in the area of the Southern Buh river. Under cover of mortar and artillery fire, the continued the engineering equipment of the positions and strengthened a grouping of electronic warfare units.

The situation in the Bessarabian operational district in the Transnistrian region of Moldova has not changed.
