Ukrainian military destroy 178 enemy troops and five tanks in eastern Ukraine

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have destroyed 178 Russian troops and five tanks in eastern Ukraine over the past day.

The relevant statement was made by the East Operational Tactical Group on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the aggressor within the control area of the East Operational Tactical Group. On May 16, 2022, Russian fascist troops launched eight attacks,” the report states.

The Ukrainian artillery units inflicted fire damage to the enemy’s groups of personnel and military equipment units. In addition, an ammunition depot was destroyed.

According to the East Operational Tactical Group, the enemy’s losses included up to 178 troops, five tanks, seven infantry fighting vehicles, two armored personnel carriers, two armored fighting vehicles, three multiple launch rocket systems, one artillery system, two mortar systems, five heavy artillery tractors and one unmanned aerial vehicle.

A reminder that, between February 24, 2022 and May 16, 2022, Russia’s total combat losses in Ukraine reached about 27,700 troops.
