Enemy sending additional artillery to Bryansk region to shell Chernihiv region – war update

Russian troops are sending additional artillery to the border areas of the Bryansk region in order to increase the provocative shelling of settlements in the Chernihiv region.

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a war update published on Facebook.

As of 06:00 on May 13, Russian troops did not cease offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone in an attempt to establish full control over the Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kherson regions and maintain a land corridor between these regions and the temporarily occupied Crimea.

At the same time, the enemy maintains tension in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova and in the Republic of Belarus.

The enemy was not active in the Volyn and Polissia areas. The main efforts of the armed forces of Belarus were focused on covering the state border in the Brest and Gomel regions.

In the Sivershchyna direction, measures are being taken to strengthen the protection of the Ukrainian-Russian border in the Bryansk and Kursk regions. According to the General Staff, Russian forces are sending additional artillery units to the border areas of the Bryansk region to increase the provocative shelling of settlements in the Chernihiv region, located near the state border of Ukraine.

In the Slobozhanshchyna area, the enemy is taking measures to regroup, replenish supplies of ammunition and fuel in order to restore offensive capabilities.

The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Kharkiv direction. The main efforts were concentrated on preventing the advance of Ukrainian troops toward the settlement of Vesele.

In the Voronezh and Belgorod regions, the increased level of terrorist threat has been extended until May 25, 2022.

In the Donetsk direction, the enemy continues to concentrate its efforts on establishing full control over the settlement of Rubizhne.

In the Lyman direction, enemy units tried to dig in outside the settlement of Oleksandrivka.

In the Bakhmut direction, the occupiers carried out assault operations toward the settlement of Orikhove and outside Komyshuvakha, although they did not succeed.

In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy conducted offensive operations toward the settlement of Marinka.

The invaders continued to launch artillery and air strikes on Mariupol, concentrating their efforts on blocking Ukrainian troops near the Azovstal plant. In order to establish full control over the city and suppress the resistance of Ukrainian defenders, the enemy uses strategic aircraft. Due to the evacuation of local residents, the enemy is going to increase attacks in the near future.

In the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia directions, the enemy shelled Ukrainian positions with artillery along the entire line and conducted air reconnaissance using UAVs.

In the Southern Buh direction, the invading units did not carry out active hostilities, firing at Ukrainian units from artillery and mortars outside the settlements of Oleksandrivka, Tavriiske, Kotliareve, Hannivka and Osokorivka.
