Rescuers extinguish fires caused by Russia’s missile strikes on Odesa Region on May 9

Rescuers have extinguished fires caused by Russia’s missile strikes on Odesa Region on May 9, 2022, namely on the village of Fontanka, Odesa District, and Odesa’s Suvorovskyi District.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian State Emergency Service on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

At 10:35 p.m., in the village of Fontanka, Russia’s missile hit and damaged a shopping mall, causing a fire. At 01:20 a.m., the fire was extinguished within the area of 1,000 square meters. Three persons were injured.

In the evening of May 9, 2022, three warehouse premises were also hit with Russia’s missile strike and caught fire in Odesa’s Suvorovskyi District. At 01:30 a.m., the fire was extinguished. One person died and two were injured.

A reminder that, on May 9, 2022, Russia’s strategic aircrafts launched seven missile strikes on Odesa Region, causing damage to a number of civilian objects, which are not related to military infrastructure. One person was killed and five injured.
