The international community must use the bitter experience of World War II in order to end the war in the heart of Europe.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported this on Telegram on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation, Ukrinform reports.

"Unfortunately, 77 years later, the civilized world has faced Nazism again. Its Russian version, which matured on the cult of victory in the war, which the Soviet regime unleashed against the Nazis. It is already clear that Russia does not plan to stop on Ukraine. Who will be next? The international community must use the bitter experience of the Second World War to end the war in the heart of Europe," Shmyhal said.

He stressed that the war is a terrible grief that affects millions of people for many generations to come. The civilized world knows the price paid for peace in World War II and honors the memory of those who gave their lives for the victory over Nazism, Shmyhal said.

May 8 marks the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation in Ukraine, dedicated to the memory of World War II victims.
