Two killed as Russian troops shell households, petrol station, and Azot plant in Sievierodonetsk

Russian invaders opened fire at Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk region, 16 times over the past 24 hours, targeting residential buildings, a petrol station, and the local Azot plant.

That’s according to the Telegram channel of the press service of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Ukrinform reports.

“In general, the town was in a state of horror throughout yesterday. Sixteen times, the enemy opened fire on residential neighborhoods and infrastructure. This is half of the recorded number of shellings throughout the region. Twelve households, an electric substation, and a commercial quarter were damaged. Two people were killed,” the statement said.

It is noted that at about 18:00, enemy shells hit one of the last remaining gas stations in Luhansk region and the nearby railway facility of the Sievierodonetsk Azot Association situated nearby. Railway sleepers and grass caught fire, affecting an area of about 400 sq m. Firefighters succeeded in containing the fire before it got to the plant’s nitrogen tanks.

Seven more households were destroyed in Rubizhne as a result of Russian shelling, and two – in Novodruzhesk. There are destructions recorded in Lysychansk, Orikhove, Hirske, and Popasna.

At the same time, the Regional Military Administration noted that 11 enemy attacks had been repulsed in Luhansk and Donetsk regions in the past 24 hours. Eight main battle tanks, 11 armored combat vehicles, and five military trucks were destroyed.
