Zaporizhzhia authorities are now waiting for a column of people evacuated from the Azovstal plant, Mariupol and other temporarily occupied territories.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister, Temporary Occupied Territories Reintegration Minister Iryna Vereshchuk at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In her words, 156 people were evacuated from the Azovstal plant alone.

“We do not know how many buses are coming in total, but we know there are 156 people. It is important that we have rescued people, enabled other people to use an open corridor. This is the corridor we have opened and have been maintaining for three days now,” Vereshchuk told.

According to Vereshchuk, several hundreds of people are remaining within the Azovstal plant.

“There are those wounded, the wounded military, border guards. In addition to the Azov fighters, there are servicemen from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, female servicemen, the National Guard. I think there are several hundreds of people,” Vereshchuk added.

A reminder that evacuation buses with people are driving towards the city of Zaporizhzhia at the moment.
