A unit of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces has destroyed a modified Russian BTR-80 armored personnel carrier and its crew.

According to Ukrinform, the press service of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces published a respective video.

"A unit of the Russian occupiers destroyed and liquidated on Ukrainian soil certainly arouses admiration and pride for our paratroopers, because we did not allow Putin's army to advance deep into our territory, so they will no longer kill our population. However, what is of greater interest for experts in military armored vehicles is the fact that Ukrainian paratroopers destroyed an upgraded and modified version of the Russian armored personnel carrier BTR-80," the statement reads.

In particular, the video shows that the destroyed Russian armored vehicle was equipped with a new sight and searchlight.

According to the statement, the invaders and their armored vehicle were eliminated by soldiers of the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Russia's military losses in Ukraine have amounted to about 22,800 troops.
