Ukraine’s Armed Forces destroy Russian Su-34 fighter jet in Kharkiv region

In Kharkiv region, the Ukrainian military destroyed a Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber.

Oleh Synehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said in a Telegram post, Ukrinform reports.

"Today, our defenders destroyed another enemy Su-34 aircraft. The Russian fighter jet was liquidated in Izium region, where fighting with the occupiers is underway,” Synehubov wrote.

According to the 93rd Separate Kholodnyi Yar Mechanized Brigade, the fighter-bomber was shot down with the Soviet portable anti-aircraft missile system ‘Igla’. The aircraft crashed in the territory temporarily occupied by the Russians. It is still unknown whether the pilots survived.

As Ukrinform reported, from February 24 to April 21, 2022, Russian troops lost about 21,000 personnel in Ukraine.
