Russian troops regrouping for offensive towards Lyman - General Staff

Russian troops are regrouping in order to continue their offensive toward the town of Lyman in the Donetsk region.

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this on Facebook.

"The enemy is trying to continue their offensive operations in the eastern operational zone in order to establish full control over the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. They continue to launch missile and bomb strikes on the military and civilian infrastructure throughout Ukraine," the post reads.

In the Volyn and Polissia areas, Russian troops did not conduct any operations.

According to the General Staff, the threat remains of Russian aircraft launching missile and bomb strikes on facilities across Ukraine using the territory, airfields and airspace of Belarus.

Units of the Belarusian armed forces continue to carry out tasks to protect their border with Ukraine in the Brest and Gomel regions. Positions and observation posts are being equipped.

In the Sivershchyna area, there are no signs of the enemy forming a battle group to resume offensive operations. The enemy is protecting a section of the Ukrainian-Russian border in this area.

Measures are being taken to equip strongpoints in the areas bordering Ukraine.

In the Slobozhanshchyna area, the enemy is regrouping and replenishing its reserves, continuing to partially block and shell the city of Kharkiv.

In the Izium direction, the invaders attempted to launch an assault towards the villages of Sulyhivka and Dibrivne.

According to the General Staff, the enemy is attempting to conduct air reconnaissance of the directions of the assault using Orlan-10 UAVs.

In the Donetsk and Tavriya directions, Russian troops continue to shell the forward positions of Ukrainian defenders and search for weaknesses in Ukraine's defense lines along the entire line of contact.

Fighting continues outside the settlements of Kreminna, Torske and Zelena Dolyna.

It was established that the enemy is regrouping for an assault towards the town of Lyman. The enemy is also trying to advance deep into Popasna.

After the Russian invaders' attempt to storm the settlements of Rubizhne and Sievierodonetsk, about 130 wounded Russian servicemen were taken to the local hospital in Novoaidar. Their exact number is being clarified.

In the Donetsk direction, the enemy conducted assault operations near Marinka.

The invaders are concentrating their main efforts on taking control of Mariupol, continuing their assault in the area of the Azovstal plant.

The enemy carries out operations outside the settlements of Velyka Novosilka, Rivnopil and Storozheve.

In the Southern Bug area, Russian troops are concentrating their main efforts on keeping control of their positions, while shelling the positions of Ukrainian defenders and conducting hostilities outside Oleksandrivka.

According to the General Staff, in the future, the invaders will continue to fire on the positions of Ukrainian defenders and conduct hostilities in order to reach the administrative borders of the Kherson region.

Due to heavy losses, Russian troops withdrew a battalion tactical group of the 237th Guards Tank Regiment of the 3rd Motor Rifle Division of the 20th Combined Arms Army of the Western Military District from the Kharkiv region to its permanent base in Soloti, Belgorod region, to restore its combat capability.

In the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Ukrainian defenders repulsed ten attacks by Russian invaders, destroying 12 tanks, one artillery system, 28 armored vehicles and two vehicles.

A Ukrainian Air Force grouping hit nine air targets of the enemy in the past day, including an aircraft, a helicopter, six drones of various types and a cruise missile.
