General Staff: Enemy failed to expand bridgehead on left bank of Siverskyi Donets

Russian invaders have failed to expand a bridgehead on the left bank of the Siverskyi Donets and create conditions for the rapid deployment of troops.

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The enemy attempted to conduct reconnaissance by fighting near such settlements as Zavody, Dmytrivka and Dibrovne but failed, suffered losses and retreated.

In eastern Ukraine, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are completing the creation of an offensive group.

“The enemy continues to launch missile and air strikes on Ukrainian critical infrastructure facilities,” the report states.

In the Siverskyi direction, Russian troops are exercising increased control over the border areas. The hardening of positions within checkpoints and the border areas of Russia’s Bryansk Region and Kursk Region is underway. The involvement of sabotage and reconnaissance groups, as well as the threat of missile strikes from the territory of Russia, is not ruled out.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the enemy did not take active actions. No signs of the formation of offensive groups were found. The certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces continue to carry out tasks to cover the Ukrainian-Belarusian border in Brest Region and Gomel Region. In these areas, the enemy is conducting electronic warfare reconnaissance. Russia’s damaged armored vehicles are transported by rail from the territory of Belarus.

In the Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian invaders continue to partially blockade Kharkiv and fire on the positions of Ukrainian defenders.

In the Donetsk and Tavriiskyi directions, the enemy is restoring the combat capability and replenishing reserves. Russian troops are attempting to improve the tactical position of their units and intensify hostilities. The enemy continues to shell such settlements as Siversk and Pokrovske.

Russian invaders were focusing efforts near Lyman, Kreminna, Popasna and Rubizhne, attempting to gain full control over the city of Mariupol. The enemy carried out offensive operations in the direction of Sieverodonetsk, Popasna and Zaporizhzhia.

Russian invaders failed to gain a foothold near Kreminna and Rubizhne. The enemy carried out assault operations near Novotoshkivske, Popasna, Avdiivka and Marinka but also failed.

In the Southern Bug direction, Russian troops are focusing efforts on maintaining the captured frontiers and continue to fire on the positions of Ukrainian forces in the direction of Mykolaiv and Oleksandrivka.

The enemy is likely to continue fighting to reach the administrative borders of Kherson Region.

In general, 87 enemy battalion tactical groups are involved in the implementation of combat tasks on the territory of Ukraine.

In Donetsk Region and Luhansk Region, Ukrainian defenders repulsed twelve enemy attacks, destroyed ten tanks, 15 armored vehicles and five motor vehicles, as well as five enemy artillery systems.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has hit five air targets over the past day, including one plane, three helicopters and one unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

A reminder that Russian troops are planning to shell the city of Kherson and accuse the Armed Forces of Ukraine of that. The enemy’s goal is to hold a pseudo-referendum in Kherson.
