President Zelensky presents state awards to 189 servicemen, six of them posthumously

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has presented state awards to 189 Ukrainian servicemen, six of them posthumously.

Relevant decree No. 247/2022 was published on the website of the Office of the President of Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The awards were given for personal courage and selfless actions shown in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath.

The President of Ukraine awarded the defenders with the orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky (grade II and III), ‘For Courage’ (grade II and III), Danylo Halytskyi, and the medals ‘For Military Service to Ukraine’ and ‘Defender of the Motherland’.

A reminder that, on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, starting a war. Russian troops are shelling and destroying the key infrastructure facilities, launching air and missile strikes on Ukrainian cities and villages, torturing and murdering civilians.
