Zelensky says Donbas is main target for Russia

The Donetsk and Luhansk regions are the main target for destruction for Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in a video address on the 50th day of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"They have shown over the 50 days of the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation that Donbas is their main target. It is Donbas that Russia wants to destroy in the first place. It is the Luhansk and Donetsk regions that Russian troops are destroying as if they want not a single stone left of them. And so that there are no people left at all," he said.

He said that the Russian invaders forcibly draft residents of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions into their army and send them to participate in the fiercest fighting.

In addition, according to Zelensky, enemy troops are destroying cities, towns and villages in Ukraine's eastern regions and burning everything that has not been burnt over the past eight years of the war.

On February 24, Russia launched a new phase of the eight-year war against Ukraine. The enemy has been shelling and bombing peaceful Ukrainian cities, towns and villages, brutally torturing and killing civilians.
