Zelensky thanks Trudeau for assistance for Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau for the assistance provided for Ukraine.

He wrote this on his Twitter account, Ukrinform reports.

“Had a phone conversation with Justin Trudeau. Thanked for supporting #StandUpForUkraine initiative, for CAD 1 billion of financial assistance and USD 500 million of additional defensive support. Stronger together!” he wrote

As Ukrinform reported, within the current and next years, Canada plans to provide Ukraine with CAD 500 million in military aid (about $416 million) and almost CAD 1 billion (about $ 830 million) in new loan resources to support government commitments.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
