City authorities confirm data on 360 civilians killed in Bucha - Denisova

The city authorities have confirmed that at least 360 civilians, including at least 10 children, have been killed in Bucha in Kyiv region.

Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Liudmyla Denisova wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

She clarified that in Bucha on Yablunska Street, rashists set up a real torture chamber, and that the survivors said that there was a headquarters of the Chechen military, called Kadyrovites, who shot people to death, burned their eyes, cut off body parts, tortured to death not only adults but also children.

"According to the city authorities, as of today, a total of 360 civilians, including at least 10 children, have been killed in Bucha," the Ukrainian ombudsperson said.

Denisova also noted that in the woods on the way out of Hostomel towards Irpin, local residents found a shot car with a family.

According to the Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, such actions of the Russian terrorist army fall under the definition of the crime of genocide in accordance with the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide and Article 6 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

"I’m calling on the UN Commission to Investigate Human Rights Violations during Russia's Military Invasion of Ukraine and the expert mission set up by the OSCE participating States under the Moscow Mechanism to take into account these facts of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Ukraine," she said.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
