German intelligence office intercepts calls from Russians discussing atrocities in Bucha

Ukrinform
Germany's intelligence agency BND has intercepted radio messages from Russian soldiers discussing their atrocities against civilians in the Ukrainian town of Bucha.

That's according to German news site Spiegel, Ukrinform reports.

Some of the radio messages can also be assigned to corpses photographed in Bucha, the statement said. In a radio message, one soldier is said to have told another that he and his colleagues had shot a cyclist. In another radio message, a man said: "First question soldiers, then shoot them."

This is new evidence of the atrocities committed by Russian invaders in Bucha. The BND has already informed the relevant bodies of the German Bundestag about this.

The BND recordings suggest that these were neither accidental acts nor the actions of individual soldiers who got out of control. Rather, the killings of civilians have become part of the usual actions of the Russian military, possibly part of Putin's strategy. It is about spreading fear and terror among the civilian population and suffocating resistance.

The material is also said to show that employees of Russian mercenary troops such as the "Wagner Group" played a key role in the atrocities. They have already been noted for their extreme brutality in Syria..
