Russian troops abduct mayor of Tavriisk in Kherson Region

In Kherson Region, Russian troops have abducted Tavriisk Mayor Mykola Rizak.

The relevant statement was made by Tavriisk City Territorial Community on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Since the evening of April 1, 2022, the location of Tavriisk Mayor Mykola Rizak has been unknown. He was detained by the Russian military,” the report states,

The purpose of detaining and the requirements of Russian occupation forces are yet to be reported.

A reminder that earlier Russian troops also abducted Hola Prystan Mayor Oleksandr Babych. As of April 2, 2022, there was no information about him and seven more local residents abducted by Russian troops, according to the statement by Hola Prystan City Council.

In Kherson Region, local residents are continuously holding peaceful rallies against the Russian aggression. Russian troops use force and weapons against unarmed civilians. People get wounded and detained. In addition, Russian invaders are abducting local residents, namely the representatives of local self-government authorities.
