Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and French President Emmanuel Macron have discussed the negotiation process between Ukraine and Russia.

Zelensky said this in a statement posted on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

"Continued talks with French President Emmanuel Macron. Told about countering Russian aggression. Discussed the negotiation process - the course and prospects, the importance of security guarantees. The initiative of France on humanitarian corridors from Mariupol must be implemented!" Zelensky said.

On March 26, Macron said that France, in coordination with Turkey and Greece, intended to conduct a "humanitarian operation" to evacuate people from Mariupol.

On March 29, after a conversation between French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Elysee Palace announced that a humanitarian operation in Mariupol "at this stage" is impossible.
