Ukraine's air defense forces shoot down enemy missile near Odesa

On March 24, Russian ships fired artillery shells towards Odesa, but the shells fell into the sea. Ukrainian air defense units also shot down an enemy missile near the city.

The head of the Odesa regional military administration, Maksym Marchenko, reported this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"The enemy fired from naval artillery but, fortunately, all the shells fell into the sea. The enemy also fired one missile at our region. But, as always, our air defense worked perfectly - the missile was shot down," Marchenko said.

On March 24, enemy ships were spotted off the coast of Odesa, firing several shots towards the city in order to put psychological pressure on residents.

On February 24, Russian leader Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure, residential neighborhoods of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
