Zelensky tells Pope Francis about difficult humanitarian situation in Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky informed Pope Francis about the difficult humanitarian situation and the blocking of humanitarian corridors by Russian troops.

Zelensky wrote this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

“Talked to Pope Francis. Told His Holiness about the difficult humanitarian situation and the blocking of rescue corridors by Russian troops. The mediating role of the Holy See in ending human suffering would be appreciated. Thanked for the prayers for Ukraine and peace,” Zelensky wrote.

As Ukrinform reported, on March 20, at a traditional Sunday meeting with pilgrims, Pope Francis called on the international community to do everything possible to end the war in Ukraine.
