Russian air strike on Kyiv: Number of victims in Podilskyi district grows to eight

As a result of Russia’s air strike on Kyiv city, the number of killed people in Kyiv's Podilskyi district grew to eight. An investigation has been launched.

The Prosecutor General’s Office wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Under the procedural control of the Podilskyi District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, an investigation has been launched into violations of the laws and customs of war combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). It is established that in the evening of March 20, 2022, the armed forces of the Russian Federation, using the means of warfare forbidden by the international law, launched a rocket attack on the Podilskyi district of the capital.

It is noted that as a result of enemy shelling and fire, which then broke out, the shopping mall was destroyed. Windows in nearby residential buildings and cars parked nearby were damaged. According to preliminary data, eight people died.

Information on the killed and injured people is being clarified. Rescuers and law enforcement officers are working at the scene to document the crime.

As Ukrinform reported, explosions were heard late in the evening on March 20 in the Podilskyi district of Kyiv.
