Klitschko: mall on fire in Kyiv, one reportedly dead in Russian strike

A shopping center caught fire in Kyiv’s Podilskyi district, while one person is reported dead on the scene.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko broke the news via Telegram, Ukrinform wrote.

The statement came shortly after a report on several explosions heard in Ukraine’s capital and videos showing what appears to be a missile hit.

"Rescuers are putting out a large fire in one of the shopping centers in the capital’s Podilskyi district. One person is reported dead. Rescue teams, medics, and police are working on the scene," the mayor wrote.

No more details are available at the moment.

The update on casualties is yet to be released.
