Ukraine’s Armed Forces again attacked the airfield in Chornobayivka, Kherson region, which is used by Russian invaders to base command posts and aircraft.

"The airfield in Chornobayivka, Kherson region, which the Russians use to base their command posts and aircraft. The Armed Forces of Ukraine again made our day by hitting the airfield," Oleksiy Arestovych, non-staff adviser to Head of the President's Office, said at a briefing.

He added that according to preliminary data, the advanced command post of the 8th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation was destroyed.

The adviser noted that this command of the Russian army was responsible for "the creation and logistics of armed forces of the so-called ‘LPR/ DPR’ which were in fact part of the military machine of the Russian Federation and are now dying in clashes with our military in eastern Ukraine."

As noted, according to preliminary data, the commander of this army was killed, perhaps not only he but also some generals, but the information is being clarified.

As reported, on March 15, at least three Russian helicopters were destroyed by artillery shelling at the airfield in Chornobayivka. Several military vehicles were also damaged near the airfield. The attack is believed to be the most devastating known blow inflicted by the Ukrainian military on Russian helicopters during this war.

In Kherson region, residents do not stop protests against Russian invaders.

On February 24, Russian president Putin announced the beginning of a large-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops shell and destroy infrastructure, massively fire on residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, and ballistic missiles.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine, and general mobilization was announced.
