Ukraine has once again asked the International Committee of the Red Cross to call on Russia to take away the bodies of killed soldiers from the Ukrainian territory.

"Today [March 17], Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Peter Maurer. During this meeting, we raised the issue of the need to collect and identify the bodies of the fallen military forces of the occupier. We drew the attention of the Red Cross that Russia had not yet requested the extradition of the bodies and remains of their dead, the number of which exceeded 14,000," Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

According to her, the Ukrainian side called on the ICRC President to offer Russia "to show respect for its fallen soldiers" and to begin negotiations to take them away from Ukraine.

As reported, earlier Ukraine had already appealed to the ICRC for help in removing the bodies of Russian soldiers.
