The situation in the city of Mariupol is catastrophic and extremely difficult.

The relevant statement was made by Advisor to Ukrainian Internal Affairs Minister Vadym Denysenko on Ukrainian TV channels, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The situation is catastrophic, the situation is horrible there. So far, we do not have any more or less stable information, which could be reported to the country. Unfortunately, the situation is extremely difficult there,” Denysenko told.

In his words, Russia also launched an air strike on a school, which is situated in the city of Merefa, near Kharkiv. Now it is on fire, and Ukrainian rescuers are working there.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament, Member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Fedir Venislavskyi (Servant of the People faction) noted that the enemy was also destroying the peaceful city of Chernihiv.

“I have the impression that Putin probably has some existential anger at Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Mariupol. As for Mariupol, it is obvious that the situation is horrible there, everyone is aware of that. Chernihiv is one of the oldest cities, which actually gave birth to Kyivan Rus and was the cradle of our ancestors. Putin is destroying it, same as the city of Kharkiv. As for Kharkiv, he probably thought it to be a stronghold of the ‘Russian world’, but Kharkiv met him with such unprecedented and unheard resistance that he is simply wiping it off, destroying the whole quarters. Saltivka, downtown Kharkiv are being continuously hit with shells,” Venislavskyi told.

In his words, the enemy failed to achieve any significant results in Chernihiv Region and, thus, is killing civilians.

According to Venislavskyi, Russian President Vladimir Putin is “destroying our statehood and our nation, and it is already obvious to the whole world”.

A reminder that, on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops are shelling and destroying the key infrastructure facilities, launching missile and air strikes on residential areas in Ukrainian cities and villages, killing civilians in Ukraine.
