In the towns of Severodonetsk, Rubizhne, and Lysychansk in Luhansk region, dozens of residential buildings caught on fire at night as a result of the actions of Russian invaders.

"Russian invaders once again wanted to capture Rubizhne, Severodonetsk, and Lysychansk in Luhansk region. The enemy continues to cynically fire on civilians. The occupiers strike both at night and during the day ... dozens of houses caught on fire during the night," the State Emergency Service posted on Telegram.

Many civilians have been killed and injured in Severodonetsk, Rubizhne, and Lysychansk, the rescuers added.

“Rescuers from the Luhansk Regional Department of the State Emergency Service continue to help people get out from under the rubble, bring people water, and help the authorities to evacuate people to safe places. But Russian army wants to take more civilians hostage and makes evacuation impossible. The shelling continues. There will be no humanitarian corridor today," the Service added.

As Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk said earlier, as of March 16, the Ukrainian side has not received consent to opening humanitarian corridors, and currently, there are no guarantees of the safe evacuation of residents.

As of March 14, almost 150,000 people in Ukraine used humanitarian corridors and are now in a safe place.

Ukraine has been at war with Russian invaders since February 24.
