Russian invaders plan to land their paratroopers in Odesa region to take control of Odesa city. However, Ukrainian defenders are already waiting for them, and the enemy will have no smooth sailing.

"It's not a new threat, it's an old threat. They wanted to make this situation on the Black Sea 3-4 days ago, but there was [adverse] weather, they had to go to Sevastopol, [now] they are returning. They crave the territory of Odesa city and Odesa region. But believe me, they are awaited there, and they will have no smooth sailing," Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said during the nationwide telethon when asked about the enemy's threat from the Black Sea.

He assured that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had full information and controlled the situation in the region.

"We are fully aware of the situation, we understand what is happening there, and the situation there is under control. There is someone to meet them. Just as they were met in Chernihiv region, as they were met in Kyiv region. We understand what forces and means we are talking about," the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council assured.

On February 24, Russian president Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops shell and destroy infrastructure, conduct massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and towns using artillery, MLRS, and ballistic missiles.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
