In Mariupol, 400,000 people are under siege, without food, water, and heat.

"The situation in Mariupol is terrible. As of today, 1,582 people have been killed. 400,000 of our citizens are under siege. They are without food, without water, without heat. These bombings, which take place almost every hour, simply kill and wipe this place off the map of Ukraine. I know that efforts are made now, and we are very much praying that this humanitarian cargo will still be delivered to Mariupol, that people will receive help," Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova said on the air of Ukrainian TV channels, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

She added that she lost connection with the two workers in the town.

"We know that it is very difficult, we know how many people have been killed, and we will never forgive all the victims that Russia has inflicted," Denisova concluded.

As reported, on Saturday, March 12, Ukraine opens humanitarian corridors to Mariupol, the town of Polohy, and a number of populated localities in Kyiv and Sumy regions.

Buses for the evacuation of civilians and humanitarian cargo delivery went from Zaporizhzhia to Mariupol. Ninety tonnes of food and medicines are sent to the town, which has been besieged for 13 days. The clergy of the Orthodox Church took the initiative to personally accompany the humanitarian cargo.
