The Russian invaders understand that they cannot seize Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv.

That’s according to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Ukrinform reports.

"Russia’s blitzkrieg has failed: the enemies realize they can’t capture Kyiv. Despite all the propaganda rhetoric, the main wish of Putin's occupiers is to survive and get rotated out of Ukraine, to never return," the SBU said.

This conclusion can be drawn from communications, intercepted by the SBU, involving enemy forces that had been trying to advance toward Kyiv through a nearby settlement of Borodianka.

"We’re short on manpower. Many from our unit, from our battalion were killed, many were wounded. But there’s good news, too: we will be rotated to Belarus soon and will just wait there. I hope we’ll be sent home," one of the Russian soldiers told his wife over the phone.

"Well, if you are not sent home on rotation, you will be sent in disposable bag, one of those that Russia procured ahead of the invasion. Flee from our land and never return," the security agency said in a statement.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on March 11, the invaders fired a missile at Baryshivka, a settlement in Kyiv region, injuring six civilians. According to preliminary reports, the Iskander missile inflicted significant damage to local infrastructure and a number of households.
