The Russian Federation is trying to destroy all airfields across Ukraine to make Ukraine physically unable to protect its sky from Russian warplanes.

If Russians succeed in destroying this infrastructure, they will continue bombing cities and killing civilians, the adviser to the head of the President's Office, Mykhailo Podoliak, wrote on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

"Our 'right' Western partners. While you're thinking, Russian soldiers are trying to destroy all our airfields. So that we don't have any planes. So that we can't close the sky on our own. Then to bomb peaceful cities & kill civilians. Do you really want to watch it on your TV??” Podoliak tweeted.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops have been killing civilians, shelling and destroying key infrastructure, and their missiles have been hitting Ukrainian households.

Ukraine has filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation with the UN International Criminal Court in The Hague.

International Criminal Court Prosecutor Karim Khan has launched an investigation into the situation in Ukraine.
