Last night, Russian troops continued to shell Kharkiv, Mariupol, and Okhtyrka, as well as loot Trostianets.

This was announced on the United News telethon by the advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Vadym Denysenko, Ukrinform reports.

The advisor says this night was relatively calm in most regions of the country (as far as this can be said in the current circumstances). The enemy shelling went on in Kharkiv.

“The situation is very difficult in a number of cities of Sumy region – first of all, in Okhtyrka and Trostianets. These are the towns where there is almost no electricity and water supply. These cities are really on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe. In Trostianets, the Russians looted virtually all grocery shops. Only thanks to the efforts of local farmers are people able to bake bread and hand it to the local people for free, ”Denysenko said.

The situation remains difficult in Mariupol as the city is now also on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe.

On a positive note, the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs mentioned the decisive repulse of the aggressors, who on Saturday tried to push their way through from Balakleya to Dnipropetrovsk region – an enemy convoy was destroyed there. Another convoy was stopped in Sumy region.

According to an operational update, now the Russians seek to break through to Lubny, as well as to the Kaniv Hydropower Plant.

"Last night was relatively calm in Kyiv. But we realize that a huge armada of Russian hardware has been amassed on the approaches to the capital. The situation in Irpin, Bucha, and Hostomel is extremely complicated,” Denisenko stressed. Therefore, Sunday will be a difficult day for Ukrainians, according to forecasts.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion.

Russian troops have been killing civilians, shelling and destroying key infrastructure, and their missiles have been hitting Ukrainian households.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced. The Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the support of the entire nation, are courageously resisting aggression.
