Kuleba meets with Blinken to discuss sanctions against Russia, arms supplies

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken at Ukraine–Poland border.

"I have just returned from the Ukraine–Poland border, where I met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. We had talks right at the border, in the neutral zone, and then we took a few steps towards Ukraine to express support," Kuleba said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to the minister, he had a productive conversation with the Secretary of State on the effectiveness of sanctions already imposed on Russia and the measures taken, as well as future steps to supply Ukraine with the necessary weapons and the imposition of additional sanctions against Russia.

"I am confident that we will impose them in the coming days, the United States will also coordinate efforts with its European partners," Kuleba said.

On February 24, Russian president Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops are shelling and destroying infrastructure, conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and towns using artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, and ballistic missiles. Martial law was imposed in the country and general mobilization was announced. Ukraine filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation at the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague.
