Representatives of Ukraine, Russia and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) are currently discussing the organization of green corridors.

Mykhailo Podoliak, an advisor to the head of the President’s Office, said at a briefing at the Lviv Regional State Administration, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"We have now set up a conditional working group, which includes representatives of Ukraine, representatives of Russia, especially the Russian army. We were looking for a mediator - the International Red Cross. They are now discussing how to evacuate people logistically, import food and medicines. I believe today we will have a clear understanding, for example, as to Mariupol, what kind of a corridor, because there are about 200,000 people seeking evacuation, Volnovakha, where 20,000 people want to leave,” said Podoliak.

At the same time, he expressed doubts that the Russians would follow the rules, but assured that the Ukrainian side would work on it.

"We will constantly say that we need to create corridors, make sure there is no fire while we evacuate people. We will do this, even if they create problems for us. We are talking about it now. There are already representatives of Russia, representatives of the International Red Cross and our representatives. They will directly control it. This is one of the key factors in the negotiation process," Podoliak stressed.

As reported, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion.
