“Another battle near Kruty. Between the villages of Pamiatne and Khoroshe Ozero in Chernihiv region on March 1, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the territorial defense fought against the Russian army. 104 years afterwards, Ukrainians and Russians fought again. This time the Russian army sustained huge losses. According to local residents, nearly 200 bodies of dead Russian soldiers and officers were gathered across the district after the fighting. They were taken away by two KamAZ trucks in the direction of Sumy region, through the village of Plysky,” the report says.

It is noted that prior the battle, the Russians fired on the Memorial to the Heroes of Kruty and took pictures near it.

The community reminds that Kruty is a symbol of the struggle for Ukraine's independence. In 1918, a battle took place here between the army of the Ukrainian People's Republic and the Bolsheviks, who attacked Kyiv. Then the Ukrainians were forced to retreat.

As reported, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure. Missiles hit residential buildings.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.

Ukraine officially filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation with the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague.
