Brazil to introduce ‘humanitarian passport’ for Ukrainian refugees

Ukrinform
President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro has stated that Brazil will introduce a “humanitarian passport” to welcome Ukrainian refugees.

He said this in an interview with radio station Jovem Pan, according to CNN.

Bolsonaro said the measure should be in place in the next day or two and is part of the country’s efforts to welcome “all refugees” from Ukraine.

At the same time, the President of Brazil said that his “neutral” position on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine remained the same, adding he hoped the conflict would end soon and that Brazil wants “peace all over the world”.

Bolsonaro noted that a large Ukrainian community lives in Brazil.

As Ukrinform reported, according to the latest UN data, the Russian military invasion has forced more than half a million people to leave Ukraine and about 160,000 to internally displace across Ukraine.
