In Kharkiv, as a result of the shelling of residential buildings, a family with children was burnt to death in their car. People who left bomb shelters to get some water were also killed.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov wrote about this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"To date, 37 were wounded, including three children. Four people came out of a bomb shelter to collect water and died. One family, two adults and three children, were burnt to death in their car. It's really awful. And we have to go through this together. And we are holding on," the mayor said.

He stressed that not just a war is being waged, but the Ukrainian people are being destroyed.

"Today has shown that this is not just a war, this is the murder of us, the Ukrainian people. The city of Kharkiv has experienced this for the first time in its long history. Shells hit residential buildings, killing and maiming innocent civilians. The city of Kharkiv has not suffered such destruction in recent history," Terekhov said.

The mayor also thanked the public utility services, emergency crews, power engineers, who eliminate the aftermath of accidents caused by shelling, remove the garbage, and provide utilities in Kharkiv.

Ukrinform reported earlier that in the afternoon of February 28 in Kharkiv, Russian troops launched massive strikes on residential areas - Rohan, Oleksiyivka, Saltivka. According to preliminary information, 11 people were killed.
