Battle ongoing near Mariupol – mayor

Mariupol City Mayor Vadym Boichenko said this at a press conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"The battle continues in the area of Pavlopil… Our armed forces are repelling the Russian Federation forces that are moving in the direction of Mariupol. Tanks are moving, we have to understand that their goal is our beautiful city of Mariupol,” Boichenko said.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved a presidential decree on the imposition of martial law throughout Ukraine.
