Anatoliy Matios: There were about 125,000 tonnes of ammunition near Balakliia

About 125,000 tonnes of ammunition were stored at missile and artillery depots near the city of Balakliia in Kharkiv region. 

Ukrainian Chief Military Prosecutor Anatoliy Matios stated this at a press briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“A total area of the arsenal is about 368 hectares, where about 125,000 tonnes of ammunition are stored, according to the official data received and confirmed by the investigation,” Matios said.

He also noted that the fire, which then triggered explosions of ammunition, broke out at two sites of one of the depots with missile and artillery ammunition.
