Klitschko discusses infrastructure recovery in Kyiv with EU parliamentary delegation
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko met with a delegation of chairs of parliamentary committees on European affairs from EU member states to discuss support for and restoration of critical and social infrastructure in Kyiv damaged by Russian aggression.
Klitschko posted the information on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
The delegation was led by Christian Friis Bach, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee and member of the European Affairs Committee of the Danish Parliament.
“We discussed the situation in Kyiv and Ukraine. I explained how, despite the war, the city continues to maintain and restore infrastructure damaged by the aggressor — rebuilding residential buildings and providing all essential services to Kyiv residents,” Klitschko stated.
The conversation also touched on the importance of developing local self-government in Ukraine and safeguarding its rights.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk and the delegation of EU parliamentary committee chairs also discussed the launch of the first negotiation clusters for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
