Sushchenko waiting for visit of Ukrainian human rights commissioner – Feygin

Mark Feygin, the public defender of Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko, has visited his client in Lefortovo prison today.

"I have just visited Roman Sushchenko in Lefortovo prison. He asks Oleg Sentsov to end his hunger strike. Roman Sushchenko asks to say the words of encouragement to Ukrainian Human Rights Commissioner Liudmyla Denisova and requests all authorized to help her to meet with the political prisoners. He is also waiting for her," Feygin wrote on Facebook.

As reported, Sushchenko was illegally detained on September 30, 2016 in Moscow, where he arrived on a private trip. On October 7, 2016, he was charged with "espionage."

On June 4, 2018, the Moscow City Court sentenced Sushchenko to 12 years in a high-security penal colony.
