Petrakov ready to manage Ukraine until Rebrov leaves Al Ain - media

Oleksandr Petrakov has agreed to manage Ukraine's national football team until Serhiy Rebrov leaves UAE club Al Ain, according to journalist Igor Tsyganyk.

"There is a chance that Serhiy Rebrov will be able to terminate his contract with Al Ain, and negotiations are underway even today. If that does not happen, then on August 17, Oleksandr Petrakov will become the acting head coach of the Ukrainian national team. Petrakov himself is ready to work with the national team until Serhiy Rebrov leaves Al Ain. He took it absolutely normally," Tsyganyk said.

The new Ukraine manager will be named at a meeting of the executive committee of the Ukrainian Association of Football on August 17.

Ukraine will play their first match under the new head coach on September 1, when they face Kazakhstan in a 2022 World Cup qualifier.
