Usyk may fight Joshua in April or May – promoter

The former undisputed world cruiserweight champion, Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, may hold a title fight with WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua from Britain in April or May next year, according to Alexander Krassyuk, General Director at K2 Promotions, who represents Usyk's interests.

"My prediction, my plan, and our strategy are to have a fight between Joshua and Usyk in April or May 2021. The WBO has the influence to ensure the champion makes a mandatory defense. Despite everyone wanting to see a Joshua-Fury fight, I don't think it will happen any time soon," the boxing site Klitschko-brothers.com quoted Krassyuk as saying.

"I didn't discuss with Usyk how Joshua was fighting with Pulev, but I have to admit that AJ looked quite convincing," he said.
