Ukrainian Tennis Federation to resume season on June 1

The Ukrainian Tennis Federation plans to resume the season of national tournaments on June 1, 2020, the federation's press service has reported.

"The Ukrainian Tennis Federation plans to resume the season of national tournaments in the week of June 1, 2020. The calendar has undergone significant changes due to the lockdown. The first adjustments have been made for a month and a half. We also announce that registration for the competition is open," the statement said.

The federation, based on the proposals of the ITF, as well as taking into account national specifics, has developed a list of recommendations that will increase the safety of the training process amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ukraine introduced the lockdown in educational institutions and a number of other measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus infection COVID-19 on March 12. Restrictive measures were extended until May 22, but some relaxations were put in place from May 11.

Ukraine will emerge from the lockdown gradually, in five stages. At the first stage, athletes of national teams in Olympic and non-Olympic sports were allowed to conduct training processes.
