UEFA suspends Dynamo Kyiv forward for one year for violating anti-doping rules

UEFA has suspended Dynamo Kyiv forward Artem Biesiedin for one year for violating anti-doping rules, the Ukrainian club's press service has reported.

"Such a decision was obtained today following a UEFA Appeals Body hearing on February 24 of a disciplinary case concerning the violation of anti-doping rules by Artem Biesiedin. Given this suspension period, compared with standard ones for such cases, it can be assumed that UEFA agreed with most arguments from the football player and the club and found that there was no substantial fault in the actions of the football player," the club said in a statement on February 25.

The case was considered by the UEFA Appeals Body under an expedited procedure without prior consideration by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body at Biesiedin's request.

Biesiedin, after failing a doping test in November 2019 following a Europa League group stage match against Malmo (3-4), has been suspended from competitions from December 19, 2019.
