Svitolina returns to third place in WTA ranking

Top Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina has climbed two spots to occupy the third position in the September 9 ranking of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA).

Svitolina (5,032 points) has returned to the list of the world's best three female tennis players for the first time since October 2017, Ukrinform reports.

Dayana Yastremska (1,795 points) made a new personal achievement, becoming world No. 30 for the first time in her career.

Lesia Tsurenko, who has been out of action for a long time, lost 28 spots and now ranks 68th. Ukraine's fourth representative in the top 100 of the WTA rating is Kateryna Kozlova (821 points) – 74th.

Australia's Ashleigh Barty (6,501) returned to the top of the WTA rating. Czech Karolina Pliskova (6,125) is second.
