Besiktas to sign Konoplyanka for EUR 3 mln

Schalke and Besiktas have reached an agreement on the transfer of Ukrainian midfielder Yevhen Konoplyanka to the Turkish club for EUR 3 million, according to Turkish newspaper Sabah.

The clubs agreed on this amount, although Besiktas earlier offered two million euros and the German club wanted four million euros for the Ukrainian footballer.

The transfer will be formalized within a day or two. Konoplyanka is expected to arrive in Istanbul in the near future.

According to the report, Besiktas offered Konoplyanka an annual salary of 2.5 million euros, while Schalke pays him four million euros.

Konoplyanka's contract with Schalke lapses at the end of the 2019/2020 season. Transfermarkt estimates the Ukrainian at 6.5 million euros.

At the Istanbul club, Konoplyanka is to replace former Dynamo Kyiv player Jeremain Lens who will leave the club.

Besiktas finished third in last season's Super Lig and will play in the group stage of the Europa League.
